Spread the love

Landed in an alluring place. First day, the first hotel was very impressive. On our second day, I still wonder if I was dreaming – standing before within the vicinity of the Gateway Arch.

Checked out and headed to the next hotel. In moments like these, I still have to rub my eyes and pinch myself to check if I’m really here. When love and luck brought me to this country. To a world I have never dreamed about. Because of him and like him, a man of simple taste and solid standards. This place is magnificent coupled with a story that goes far beyond.

Situated here with friend Lhuc for a holiday. In a place where I could cut loose a little bit – a little bit and reflect. I slowly came to understand things much better in hindsight. And how impactful that can be? To me, again – it’s magnificent.

And because it’s the same time as Labor Day. As much as I loved the holidays, it’s still important to remember it. If no one labored, where would we be? That we should not limit anyone nor limit our dreams. It symbolizes our determination to achieve our dreams. Thank you to all the men and women that have built America.

I can see that hotels have been an integral part of life here. As tourism can be an extraordinary force for good in the world. I may be telling you the same stories they’ve been telling you.

I know sometimes it’s hard to speak out on topics in any way you will relate to. But It comes straight from my life and heart. What you have in your eyes right now is important to me. It’s my life, my words, my gift to you.

For now I’ll call him Mr. Louis as we forgot to ask his name. He welcomes us so warmingly. Upon entering, we were amazed by the interior already. Absolutely gorgeous from the time you step into the lobby.

He quickly explains a brief history of the hotel and the great man behind it. He won’t need much persuasion to tell you the story. He is proud and says it right away. Of which stood firmly and cleanly in my mind. This place is particularly historic, undeniably modern and built to last.

Architect Louis Henry Sullivan is one of  “the recognized trinity of American architecture”. The phrase “form follows function” is attributed to him.

A hotel lobby was developed to be functional and efficient. The hotel has great historical details. It is classy. It is beautiful. It is elegant. If you think the exterior is beautiful, just wait till you get inside. It’s truly beautiful inside and out.

Crafted with the design to reveal the feel of the old and modern times. Considered to be among the finest works of art. I am instantly feeling the deep connection to it. A very distinctive and refined style. I instinctively felt a sense of calm in this environment.

We showed up here earlier for check in. Left our bags. Came back, the receptionist ushered us back to our bags . Handed us the room  keys.  I can’t wait for our room door lock to click and swing open.

The room has nice touches. There is a retro record player with some great albums. The room was perfect and I would not change one thing.

I am infinitely curious about everything here. This curiosity got the best of me. I picked up the phone and tried to dial. Before I did it, the phone rang it’s dial tone. I put it down as quickly as I can. I was just surprised it’s working. In the concept of designing, we’ve got an array of choices these days.

For me, these are the things that actually deserve some room/space. Precious pieces.  I just said “Wow”. What else is there to say?

Before I forget, the toilet was smart. When you walk close to it, it will start to work. When you’re done, it will give off a cool perfume smell. Huge, spacious marble shower with high ceiling. Built-in tv in the bathroom vanity mirror seamlessly. Very clean and updated.

Down closer to getting dark outside. Our legs stretched out perfectly at ease in our two queen beds. We contemplated and agreed the idea of swimming in the pool at the rooftop. The pool is a great match for a rooftop while sitting looking for a blue moon coming around. As well as matches the questions in my mind. It’s not easy to find an answer. Sitting here pondering about it. Me telling myself – sit in it, tune in to my feelings and the answer will come. With that capturing view, it’s awe-inspiring to look out over. I’ll do it again in a heartbeat if I can. Beautiful view of downtown.

Located less than 10 min. Walk from Busch Stadium and close to the Gateway Arch. The Hotel Saint Louis provides an ideal location for first time visitors. The location is convenient to just about anything you would want to do in the city. Most importantly to the main points of interest downtown. And speaking of downtown? This is one of Saint Louis’ hidden gems in downtown accommodations.

Indeed, the seeds of good stories are just everywhere. Taking notes of things remarkable before I forget. It’s like a wind. In order to catch the wind, we gotta chase it sometimes. And a lot of times I cannot write away on an event.  It has to ferment. Through experiences, I had a kind understanding. To just let those events unfold and time is all it takes.

Sometimes It’s hard to describe. Maybe a cliche, but there is truth in it. You know it when you see it. I wish I could tell you enough. I sometimes get burned with emotions I could never otherwise have imagined. That said, I am enjoying every minute of it.

I remain eager to learn as the days go by. To more meaningful experiences like this. Cheers to a lot more that catches my eyes.

I couldn’t imagine loving Saint Louis less, only more. See more @ https://youtu.be/HQOgPbLr1gQ
